A major U.S. hotel chain is facing intense backlash after the Department of Homeland Security accused it of deliberately refusing service to federal immigration agents during active enforcement operations.
The Department of Homeland Security said Hilton Hotels launched a coordinated effort in Minneapolis to prevent DHS law enforcement personnel from booking rooms.
“NO ROOM AT THE INN!” DHS wrote in its post. “@HiltonHotels has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement.”
According to DHS, officers attempted to reserve rooms using official government email addresses and rates, only to have their bookings abruptly canceled.
“When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations,” the department stated.
